Online English course every Wednesday (Greenlandic time) from 4:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. from May 6 to May 27, 2026 👩‍🏫💻📒


Dates: May 6, May 13, May 20, and May 27, 2026.


Greenlandic time: 4:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. There is a 10 minute break from 5:50 p.m.–6:00 p.m.

Price: The first lesson is free. One lesson costs DKK 250, and 7 lessons cost a total of DKK 1,750.


Course May 6: The history of Inuit/greenlandic language. Who created dictionaries, who translated the Bible. How the Greenlandic language was influenced during the colonial period and within the Danish Realm. Its use among people, in the media, by musicians, in the education system, etc. Why most Greenlanders make spelling mistakes.


Course May 13: Greenlandic consonants and vowels. Structure of Greenlandic nouns, verbs and adverbs. Phonics and pronunciation: Double vowels and consonants. Phonetics and pronunciation of words with examples and small exercises. Learn to pronounce difficult consonants.


Course May 20: Revision from the first course session. Focus on the structure of nouns and verbs with several suffixes. Review of how the words are built: root, suffix/several suffixes/post suffix and endings. Work with examples and small exercises. Inuit body language, which can be misunderstood by foreigners. Polite phrases and greetings.


Course May 27: : Revision from the first course session. Subject and object in sentences as well as transitive and intransitive sentences. A chart of transitive and intransitive verbs is handed out. Various pronouns, several charts are handed out. Nominal prepositional phrases. Revision of phonetics and pronunciation. The course ends with feedback.


Materials: PowerPoint, Word and links to help with pronunciation. A Zoom link will be sent out one week before the course starts.
